Mounted Game are aimed at giving horse and rider fun , while improving their co-ordination and confidence.
Mounted Games were the inspiration of H.R.H. Prince Philip who at the 1957 Horse of the Year competition asked if he could devise a competition for children who could not afford an expensive, well-bred pony.
This has translated into RDA competition and the top events in NSW are the RDA NSW Mounted Games and Horse of the Year competitions held at the Annual Royal Easter Show in Sydney.
There are a selection of sporting games and races that require or improve the agility of both horse and rider. Some of these games are the Barrel race, the Flag race and bending.
